<br />Marion County Class Specification BulletinPage of <br />>>> <br />Community Services <br />Director <br />Class Code: <br />065 <br />Bargaining Unit: 10 - Department Heads <br />MARION COUNTY <br />SALARY RANGE <br />$3,988.00 - $5,342.40 Biweekly <br />$8,640.67 - $11,575.20 Monthly <br />OVERVIEW: <br />FLSA: EEOC: Department: <br />Exempt01 Officials and AdministratorsCommunity Services <br />GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES <br />Plans, directs and evaluates the activities and operations of the Community Services Department <br />including, Children and Families Commission, Economic Development Advisory Board, Marion County <br />Fair Board and Fair Foundation, dog services, lottery grants management, designated public safety <br />initiatives, and OSU Extension liaison. This is a position in the unclassified service and serves at the <br />pleasure of the appointing authority. <br />Effectively leads and manages the community services staff; administers a variety of programs and <br />services; manages a diverse workforce; interprets and applies department and county policies and <br />procedures; communicates effectively orally and in writing; identifies and responds to department, county, <br />and constituent issues; identifies and applies strategic thinking; utilizes principles and practices of <br />effective management and organizational development/behavior; holds staff and contractors accountable <br />for performance and outcomes; creates and conducts presentations to the public and Marion County <br />employees; creates a high level of support and participation by state and local government officials and <br />the public; establishes and maintains effective working relationships with a variety of individuals and <br />groups; interprets and applies pertinent federal, state and local laws, and industry best practices. <br />SUPERVISION RECEIVED <br />Works under the general supervision of the Chief Administrative Officer or designee, who assigns work, <br />establishes goals, and assesses performance through observation and evaluation of results obtained. <br />Works under the policy direction of the Board of Commissioners. <br />SUPERVISION EXERCISED <br />Exercises full supervision for all professional, supervisory, and technical staff within the Community <br />Services Department. <br />EXAMPLES OF DUTIES - DUTIES INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED <br />TO THE FOLLOWING: <br />1.Provides leadership and management of department personnel and operations; establishes <br />standards, guidelines, policies and procedures to ensure the efficient and effective operation of <br />programs and services such as children and families activities, economic development and lottery <br />https://agency.governmentjobs.com/marion/default.cfm?action=specbulletin&ClassSpecID=...8/3/2020 <br /> <br />
