<br />Marion County Class Specification BulletinPage of <br />>>> <br />Building Plans <br />Examiner 1 <br />Class Code: <br />106 <br />Bargaining Unit: 06 - Marion County Employees <br />Association <br />MARION COUNTY <br />SALARY RANGE <br />$22.23 - $29.79 Hourly <br />OVERVIEW: <br />FLSAEEOCDepartment <br />: Non-Exempt : 03 Technicians : Public Works <br />GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES <br />Examines 1 & 2 Family Dwelling building plans and plans for related accessory structure for compliance <br />with the State of Oregon Residential Specialty Code, assists the general public in obtaining permits and <br />compliance with the requirements of the Oregon Residential Specialty Code and local ordinances; <br />performs related work as required. <br />SUPERVISION RECEIVED <br />Works under the supervision of the Assistant Building Official who outlines assignments and reviews work <br />through conferences and reports. <br />SUPERVISION EXERCISED <br />Supervision is not a responsibility of positions in this classification. <br />WORKING CONDITIONS <br />Work is performed in a general office or field environment. Office work includes the use of a computer <br />using word processing, spreadsheet, permit tracking applications, and e-mail programs or programs <br />specific to the position. Fieldwork includes working in a variety of inclement weather conditions. May be <br />required to work flexible schedules and long hours throughout the year, particularly during construction <br />season (May through October). <br />EXAMPLES OF DUTIES - DUTIES INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED <br />TO THE FOLLOWING: <br />1.Examines 1 & 2 Family residential construction and site plans for compliance with County building, <br />plumbing, mechanical, fire codes, and other related standards. <br />2.May perform building inspections throughout Marion County as needed. <br />3.Determines value of structures pursuant to adopted policies, thereby determining permit fee. <br />4.Confers with architects, engineers, contractors and the general public relative to building, <br />plumbing, heating, zoning and State Fire Marshal's codes as applicable to their buildings. <br />5.Reviews construction plans for completeness and compliance with County codes and policies as <br />required to assist applicant. <br />6.Provides technical information on the various County codes to the field inspectors. <br />https://agency.governmentjobs.com/marion/default.cfm?action=specbulletin&ClassSpecID=...8/3/2020 <br /> <br />
