<br />Marion County Class Specification BulletinPage of <br />>>> <br />Administrative Services <br />Manager <br />Class Code: <br />021 <br />Bargaining Unit: 02 - Supervisory <br />MARION COUNTY <br />SALARY RANGE <br />$2,671.20 - $3,575.20 Biweekly <br />$5,787.60 - $7,746.27 Monthly <br />OVERVIEW: <br />FLSA: EEOC: Department: <br />Exempt02 ProfessionalsMultiple Departments <br />GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES <br />Responsible for the planning, organizing, administration and coordination of the centralized administrative <br />function of a county department, including budget and contract administration, accounting and various <br />aspects of administrative support. <br />SUPERVISION RECEIVED <br />Works under the general supervision of a manager or department head, who establishes goals and <br />objectives for conformance to department standards and legal requirements. <br />SUPERVISION EXERCISED <br />Positions in this classification exercise full supervision over a unit of clerical and technical employees. <br />Participates in the selection of new personnel, provides training, conducts performance evaluations, <br />responds to grievances and handles personnel issues. <br />DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICS <br />The Administrative Services Manager is distinguished from the Senior Administrative Services Manager <br />based on the size and complexity of the department's budget, including the variety of funding sources and <br />contracts. <br />EXAMPLES OF DUTIES - DUTIES INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED <br />TO THE FOLLOWING: <br />1.Develops, prepares and maintains budget for department. <br />2.Provides complex budget analysis for the department and makes recommendations for changes <br />and revisions. <br />3.Collects, analyzes and evaluates budget information for the department. Makes recommendations <br />on budget requests and prepares supportive documentation. Monitors and controls budget <br />expenditures. Instructs and assists staff in maintaining accounts. <br />4.Plans, directs, supervises and coordinates the work activities of a staff handling accounting, <br />personnel, office and administrative duties. <br />5.Reviews departmental administrative procedures and recommends changes.
