Install as per manufacturer's instructions listed on the Oregon DEQ
website.
PLASTIC TANK INSTALLATION REQUIREMENTS: Install as per manufacturer's instruction listed on Oregon DEO
website.
TANK RISER: The tank must be installed with watertight risers extending to the ground surface or above. The riser lids
must be gasketed and securely fastened.
EFFLUENT SEWER: The effluent sewer is the pipe from the septic tank to the distribution box. The material required is
3034 or Schedule 40 pipe with 18-gauge minimum green tracer wire or green metallic tape placed along the pipe. The effluent
sewer shall extend at least five(5)feet from the tank. A copy of the DEQ setback
requirements is available in our office and online at http-..//www.oregon.gov/deq/Residential/Pages/Onsite.aspx under Rules:
Division 71'.Table 1.
-THE ATTACHED SEPTIC TANK ABANDONMENT FORM MUST BE COMPLETED AND RETURNED TO OUR OFFICE.
The septic system installer must complete and sign the form and attach a copy of the receipt from the septic tank pumping
service for pumping the tank.
MAINTAIN PERMANENT ACCESS to septic tank for pumping and service. The septic tank should be pumped and
inspected by a licensed septic tank pumping service before sludge and scum accumulations reach 30%of the tank
liquid operating volume. Pumping every 3 to 5 years is an average interval. The septic tank is a reservoir for the solid
materials in the sewage waste stream. Excessive accumulation of these solid materials in the septic tank will cause the solids
to wash out of the tank and into the drainfield. This will cause irreversible damage to the drainfield and will eventually lead to a
system failure.
CALL BEFORE you DIG.-IT'S THE LAW
orrororioN Grebe,' you to roma..rums adopted by Mb°ebbed,Utility Nvnmmov Center Thoseby O ec on mmnisvamn Rwex.
