MINOR REPAIR SEPTIC TANK REPLACEMENT The septic tank installation plan is approved as submitted. Please refer to the signed approved site plan dated November 2, 2017. Any deviation from the approved plans must be authorized by this office prior to installation or the permit may be voided. ANTIBOUYANCY IS REQUIRED AT THIS LOCATION. Install as per manufacturer's instructions listed on the Oregon DEQ website. TANK RISER: The tank must be installed with watertight risers extending to the ground surface or above. The riser lid must be gasketed and securely fastened. AN EFFLUENT LIFT PUMPWILL BE REQUIRED to install the septic system disposal field in the approved area and at the required depth. Detailed instructions for dosing tank/effluent pump installations are available in our office. The electrical wiring to the pump and alarm must be installed in accordance with the appropriate Electrical Code. The electrical work must be done under a Marion County Electrical Permit and must be inspected and approved by a Marion County Electrical Inspector. The work must be left uncovered and accessible for inspection. The electrical inspection includes the connections to the pump and alarm in the dosing tank,the wiring in the trench and the connections in the structure. OBSERVE ALL SETBACKS AND SEPARATION DISTANCES as required by the Department of Environmental Quality rules. THE ATTACHED SEPTIC TANK ABANDONMENT FORM MUST BE COMPLETED AND RETURNED TO OUR OFFICE. The septic system installer must complete and sign the form and attach a copy of the receipt from the septic tank pumping service for pumping the tank. MAINTAIN PERMANENT ACCESSto septic tank for pumping and service. The septic tank should be pumped and inspected by a licensed septic tank service before sludge and scum accumulations reach 30%of the tank liquid operating volume. Pumping every 3 to 5 years is an average interval. The septic tank is a reservoir for the solid materials in the sewage waste stream. Excessive accumulation of these solid materials in the septic tank will cause the solids to wash out of the tank and into the drainfield. This will cause irreversible damage to the drainfield and will eventually lead to a system failure. THE APPROVED SEPTIC SYSTEM AREA MUST BE PROTECTEDfrom any vehicular traffic or other sources of soil compaction. Activities such as excavating or filling, driveway placement, paving or any similar alteration of the natural soil conditions will adversely affect septic system function and lead to premature system failure. The area must not be subjected to excessive saturation due to artificial drainage of ground surfaces,driveways,building downspouts or other sources.
