OREGON ingPUBLI;CWORKS' Activity Number: 555-19-001600-INQY Date: March 22, 2019 Project Address: 5824 Shaw Highway SE,Aumsville Parcel 'A,' Partition Case 18-031; 5.00 acres of Tax Lot 081W18C 03500 Completed By: Matthew Puntney, REHS RECORD REVIEW This existing system review was conducted in response to application for Partition Case No 18-031. This review is for the residence and system on Parcel A. Installation Permit Record: Marion County has no records regarding the installation of the drainfield serving this residence. A new 1000 gallon tank was added in 2010 under permit number 10-02262. Components and Function: The tank was pumped and inspected, and the drainfield was located by Action Drain on February 20, 2019. The technician noted a 1000 gallon tank in good condition and approximately 70 linear feet of drainline. He noted that the drainlines were full of roots,possibly to the point it is restricting flow into the lines. A MAJOR ALTERATION OF THE DRAINFIELD IS HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. A site visit was conducted on March 18, 2019. The system was flagged for inspection. No signs of failure were observed. There is adequate room for a repair and the proposed property line adjustment will meet all setbacks to the existing drainfield. The septic system area should be protected from any vehicular traffic, livestock and farming activities. Other activities such as logging, excavating or filling, driveway placement or any similar activities may damage the soil in the area of the drainfield and adversely affect system function. The septic tank should be pumped and inspected by a licensed septic tank pumping service when sludge and scum accumulation reaches 30% of tank volume. Pumping every 3-5 years is an average interval. The septic tank is a reservoir for the solid materials in the sewage waste stream. Excessive accumulation of these solid materials in the septic tank will cause the solids to wash out of the tank and into the drainfield. This will cause irreversible damage to the drainfield and will eventually lead to a system failure.
