Building Inspection Division
County Marion
Onsite Septic Review
OREGON
PUBLIC`WORKS'
Activity Number: 555-19-001598-INQY Date: March 22, 2019
Project Address: 5826 Shaw Highway SE,Aumsville
Parcel 'A,' Partition Case 18-031; 6.00 acres of Tax Lot 081W18C 03600/3700
Completed By: Matthew Puntney, REHS
RECORD REVIEW
This existing system review was conducted in response to application for Partition Case No 18-031. This
review is for the residence and system on Parcel B, which will combine taxlots 03600 and 03700, and grow
to six acres after the property line adjustment.
Installation Permit Record: Marion County records indicate that the system serving this property was
installed in 1975 under permit number 346. It consists of a 1200 gallon tank with approximately 450 linear
feet of drainline.
A site visit was made on March 18, 2019 to ensure the system was still functioning. No signs of failure were
observed and there is adequate room for a repair system. The proposed adjustment will meet all setbacks to
the system.
The septic system area should be protected from any vehicular traffic, livestock and farming activities. Other
activities such as logging, excavating or filling, driveway placement or any similar activities may damage the
soil in the area of the drainfield and adversely affect system function.
The septic tank should be pumped and inspected by a licensed septic tank pumping service when sludge
and scum accumulation reaches 30% of tank volume. Pumping every 3-5 years is an average interval.
The septic tank is a reservoir for the solid materials in the sewage waste stream. Excessive
accumulation of these solid materials in the septic tank will cause the solids to wash out of the tank and
into the drainfield. This will cause irreversible damage to the drainfield and will eventually lead to a
system failure.
Disclaimer: This evaluation report describes the on-site system as it exists on the date of inspection and to
the extent that components and operation of the system are reasonably observable. Oregon Department of
Environmental Quality and Marion County recognize that this evaluation report does not provide assurance
or any warranty that the system will operate properly in the future.
5155 Silverton Road NE--P.O.Box 14500—Salem,Oregon 97309-5036—Phone(503)588-5147--Fax(503)588-7948
Aono 1 .4'1
