Building Inspection DivisionMarion Count,'
•
Onsite Septic Review
111111
•. ...._ . _R Pl1BLl;C-WORKS.:
Activity Number: 555-19-000644-INQY Date: February 21,2019
Project Address: 17174 South Abiqua Road NE,Silverton
Parcel `B,' Partition Case 18-032; 22 Acres of TL 061E29D 00600
Completed By: Matthew Puntney,REHS
RECORD REVIEW
This existing system review was conducted in response to application for Partition Case No 18-032. This
review is for the residence and system on Parcel B.
Installation Permit Record: Marion County records indicate that the septic system serving this residence
may have been installed in 1978 under permit number 78-1870. However, the records do not match the
property layout and description and in is unclear where the system is.
Components and Function: The existing drainfield is reported to be to the northeast of the residence which
contradicts the information Marion County has on file. For the purposes of this Property Line Adjustment,no
action is required to locate or evaluate the system.
A site visit was conducted on February 15,2019. There were no signs of failure observed.
The septic system area should be protected from any vehicular traffic, livestock and fanning activities. Other
activities such as logging, excavating or filling, driveway placement or any similar activities may damage the
soil in the area of the drainfield and adversely affect system function.
The septic tank should be pumped and inspected by a licensed septic tank pumping service when sludge
and scum accumulation reaches 30% of tank volume. Pumping every 3-5 years is an average interval.
The septic tank is a reservoir for the solid materials in the sewage waste stream. Excessive
accumulation of these solid materials in the septic tank will cause the solids to wash out of the tank and
into the drainfield. This will cause irreversible damage to the drainfield and will eventually lead to a
system failure.
Disclaimer: This evaluation report describes the on-site system as it exists on the date of inspection and to
the.extent that components and operation of the system are reasonably observable. Oregon Department of
Environmental Quality and Marion County recognize that this evaluation report does not provide assurance
or any warranty that the system will operate properly in the future.
•
5155 Silverton Road NE—P.O.Box 14500—Salem,Oregon 97309-5036 Phone(503)588-5147 Fax(503)588-7948
Dano 7 of 1
