<br />Marion County Class Specification BulletinPage of <br />>>> <br />Onsite Wastewater <br />Specialist 2 <br />Class Code: <br />117 <br />Bargaining Unit: 06 - Marion County Employees <br />Association <br />MARION COUNTY <br />Established Date: Jul 1, 1989 <br />Revision Date: Mar 1, 2018 <br />SALARY RANGE <br />$29.72 - $39.82 Hourly <br />OVERVIEW: <br />FLSA: EEOC: Department: <br />Non-Exempt 02 ProfessionalsPublic Works <br />GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES <br />Inspects and evaluates properties to determine if soils of property meet the requirements of DEQ rules for <br />onsite wastewater treatment systems. <br />SUPERVISION RECEIVED <br />Works under the general supervision of the Assistant Building Official, who makes assignments and <br />reviews work for effectiveness of program and for adherence to rules, laws and departmental procedures <br />and policies. <br />SUPERVISION EXERCISED <br />Supervision of other employees is not a responsibility of positions in this classification. However, an <br />employee may assume lead responsibility for others including overseeing the work of employees who <br />possess an Environmental Health Specialist Trainee license or Wastewater Specialist Trainee license in <br />accordance with ORS Chapter 700. <br />EXAMPLES OF DUTIES - DUTIES INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED <br />TO THE FOLLOWING: <br />1.Inspects, evaluates potential building sites to determine if the property meets the Department of <br />Environmental Quality regulations for onsite wastewater treatment systems. <br />2.Issues permits for installation of onsite sewage systems. Designs standard or alternative systems <br />to conform with state rules, based on condition of the property. <br />3.Inspects septic systems after installation to determine compliance with state rules. Inspection <br />includes design, materials and grades and piping based on site evaluations and soil characteristic <br />knowledge. <br />4.Inspects for other DEQ onsite wastewater treatment rules, including authorization notices, existing <br />system evaluations, or alternative systems by conducting and reviewing surveys, research reports <br />and other detailed communications to arrive at decisions. <br />5.Provides information to the public concerning requirements of onsite rules. <br />https://agency.governmentjobs.com/marion/default.cfm?action=specbulletin&ClassSpecID=...8/4/2020 <br /> <br />
