Marion County Class Specification BulletinPage of <br />>>> <br />chart audits in conjunction with management analyst with focus on billing requirements and cash <br />control procedures. <br />6.Serves as department's technical resource on billing/accounts receivable, answers questions, and <br />trains other staff as assigned. <br />7.Provides backup support to other billing staff. <br />8.Participates in workgroups, committees and meetings as assigned. <br />MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: <br />EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING <br />1.Two (2) years college level degree or coursework in medical office occupations, medical billing, <br />health care administration or computer applications; OR <br />2.Two (2) years of experience performing medical billing in hospital and/or physician office and using <br />healthcare computer applications, including CPT, ICD-9 and HCPCS coding experience; OR <br />3.Any satisfactory equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience relevant to the <br />position. <br />KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITY <br />Detailed knowledge of: principles and practices of billing and accounts receivable record keeping; <br />medical billing and bookkeeping systems, procedures and techniques; financial and healthcare <br />terminology; healthcare computerized information systems and spreadsheet software; office practices, <br />procedures and equipment. <br />Skill to: interpret and process financial and healthcare documents according to appropriate procedures; <br />provide technical assistance or training to others in use of computerized healthcare information systems; <br />test computerized systems and identify errors; accurately count, record and balance transactions; <br />perform arithmetic calculations and enter data with speed and accuracy; operate a ten-key calculator, <br />computer terminal, typewriter and other office equipment. <br />Ability to: maintain, extract, analyze and interpret data; exercise good judgment in making finance related <br />decisions; ability to meet deadlines; ability to analyze processes and workflow; act as a medical billing <br />resource to department and assist in applying practices to diverse environments; ability to assist <br />information technology staff in identifying software specifications and tables needed from user <br />perspective and to work with information technology staff in modifying specifications to meet department <br />needs; establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with vendors, customers and other <br />county employees. <br />ADOPTED: <br />07/06 <br />REVISED: <br />10/07; 11/11; 02/13; 01/14 <br />MARKET REVIEW: <br />07/06; 05/17 <br />https://agency.governmentjobs.com/marion/default.cfm?action=specbulletin&ClassSpecID=...8/4/2020 <br />
