<br />Marion County Class Specification BulletinPage of <br />>>> <br />Crew Leader <br />Class Code: <br />414 <br />Bargaining Unit: 06 - Marion County Employees <br />Association <br />MARION COUNTY <br />SALARY RANGE <br />$21.28 - $28.51 Hourly <br />OVERVIEW: <br />FLSA: EEOC: Department: <br />Non-Exempt 07 Skilled CraftPublic Works <br />GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES <br />Provides technical and functional oversight of maintenance personnel in the implementation of projects <br />pertaining to environmental sites, construction, and maintenance work. Performs other administrative <br />duties that specifically relate to project coordination and maintenance. <br />May operate equipment and perform tasks of Heavy Equipment Operator and Medium Equipment <br />Operator. <br />SUPERVISION RECEIVED <br />Works under the general supervision of a Marion County Public Works supervisor/manager as <br />assigned. Supervisors provide direction, guidance, and coordination of daily duties, observes <br />performance, and inspects work upon completion for conformance to specifications and standards. <br />SUPERVISION EXERCISED <br />Supervision of other employees is not a responsibility of positions in this classification. However, acts as <br />a lead worker over maintenance employees. Participates in interviews and recommends selection of new <br />personnel. Provides for training and recommendations on staff performance. <br />EXAMPLES OF DUTIES - DUTIES INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED <br />TO THE FOLLOWING: <br />1.Schedules, oversees, and monitors active projects including determining crew composition, <br />scheduling equipment, and verifying materials availability. <br />2.As assigned investigates and resolves citizen complaints related to areas of crew <br />responsibility. Includes meeting with citizens, setting expectations, discussing options, and <br />implementing resolutions. <br />3.Provides daily direction to assigned crew(s) and sets project expectations; monitors crew progress <br />by making routine visits to the job site, answering questions from the crew or members of the <br />public; troubleshoots and resolves project issues and problems; and ensures that crews are <br />following best management practices (BMPs) and safety policies, procedures, and processes. <br />4.In coordination with supervisor, researches, evaluates, prioritizes, and implements projects related <br />to assigned technical area. <br />5.Assists supervisor with project cost estimates by researching project specifications, requesting <br />bids, determining cost estimates on projects, and making recommendations. <br />6.Creates and updates daily and weekly computerized work reports.
