<br />Marion County Class Specification BulletinPage of <br />>>> <br />Mental Health and <br />Evaluation Specialist <br />Class Code: <br />089 <br />Bargaining Unit: 06 - Marion County Employees <br />Association <br />MARION COUNTY <br />SALARY RANGE <br />$26.96 - $36.17 Hourly <br />OVERVIEW: <br />FLSA: EEOC: Department: <br />Non-Exempt 02 ProfessionalsSheriff's Office <br />GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES <br />To provide supervision recommendations to Parole & Probation Deputies on clinical issues related to <br />mental health, psychopathy, and other related areas. Conduct mental health evaluations. Assess adult <br />offenders under the supervision of the Marion County Sheriff's Office. Provide consultations on issues <br />related to diagnosis, treatment, and assessment; facilitate clinical discussions in difficult cases with <br />professional staff and supervisor. Provide trainings on evaluation and assessment tools, psychopathy and <br />levels of dangerousness of clients to Sheriff's Office staff; coordinate supervision and training meetings <br />with other clinical professionals and the Sheriff's Office to ensure evidence-based practices are being <br />adhered to. Prepare written assessments compiled from clinical interviews, probation file reviews, and <br />criminal history and police reports reviews, analysis of written assessment tools; use tests and <br />assessment tools to determine appropriateness of client referrals. <br />SUPERVISION RECEIVED <br />Works under the general supervision of the Division Commander or designee. <br />SUPERVISION EXERCISED <br />None <br />EXAMPLES OF DUTIES - DUTIES INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED <br />TO THE FOLLOWING: <br />1.Assess adult offenders under the supervision of the Marion County Sheriff's Office. Assessments <br />can include the Level of Service/Case Management Inventory (LS/CMI), Psychopathy pre-screen <br />(PSCAN), and Hare Psychopathy Checklist (PCLR-R) to ascertain level of dangerousness and <br />likelihood to recidivate. <br />2.Conduct mental health evaluations. <br />3.Interview, assess, and staff cases of other high-risk offenders to determine supervision strategies <br />which facilitate positive offender change and reduce the likelihood of recidivism. <br />4.Present to Sheriff's Office staff on training topics which can include but not limited to: evidence- <br />based practices, Senate Bill 267 (2003 Legislative Session), and mental health resources. <br />https://agency.governmentjobs.com/marion/default.cfm?action=specbulletin&ClassSpecID=...8/4/2020 <br /> <br />
