<br />DEPOSITS AND INVESTMENTS
<br />ORS 294 authorizes the County to invest in obligations of the U.S. Treasury, U.S. Government agencies and
<br />instrumentalities, bankers' acceptances guaranteed by an Oregon financial institution, commercial paper, repurchase
<br />agreements, State of Oregon Local Government Investment Pool and various interest-bearing bonds of Oregon
<br />municipalities. The County's investrnent policy prohibits the County from leveraging or borrowing funds to make
<br />investments.
<br />The County's Investment Policy specifies the County's investment objectives, required diversification, certain
<br />limitations and reporting requirements. The County held the following cash deposits and investments at June 30, 1998:
