From: RANDY CURTIS
To: BWasson,Transit
Date: 7/17/98 1:55pm
Subject: Centralized Computer room (floor plans) „~..
G
Billy, I am in receipt of a recommendation from Bob McCune and the D~ta Cent~,~hat we should plan for a
centralized computer room. IYs probable location is on the 4th floor. Ti~ Data C~n~r is preparing specifications
for the room and I will set a meeting with Leonard early next week to review the detafl~
~ 'fl .
The advantages of this option are: •~S,
1. Computer rooms in other depts. can be eliminated, freeing up space for staff/programs
2. Cost efficiency will be increased by elimination duplicate HVAC and dedicated electrical systems.
3. Transit may also be able to benefd from this central facility. I'll check it out.
I'm not sure if all the affected departments are supportive of this. Do you have any concerns before I proceed to
work with the architect?
CC: RFranke
