, • , •.
not included. Discussions were held about what went into Dan's original budget numbers.
On the issue of parking, the cost per parking stall is now at $12,200 without consideration for
elevator on northwest corner and stairs. Originally we started with $11,000' with over 400
stalls. The most efficient plan was at 423 spaces with a cost of $11,000 per stall. RG hasn't
upped his numbers to the $12,200 per stall yet. Impact on County costs could be close to
$500,000 in added parking costs. We need to revisit this issue and possibly looking at County's
policy of removing a11 contaminated soils. If DEQ does not require a clean site, let's leave the
remediation plan in place as long as environmental consultant buys off on this.
Discussions were held on how we arrived at 363 spaces at $11,000 per space. This is an
unknown. Pence Kelly will check back in their records to see where it comes from. Dave
working from numbers yesterday with 363 spaces without extra excavation, the cost would be
$11,750; to excavate the Chevron site: $12,460; to take out dirt to property line is $12,113; but it
gives you 377 stalls. Pence Kelly to go back and recheck numbers. We need to know how
these numbers have been generated. Randy and RG need the history. It is possvble the balance
of parking was factored into the $52 shell cost. We would like to focus on total cost of
building with architect & general contractor. RG and Randy will work with numbers on split
out between County and Transit. Dave will figure worst case and see where we end up. Other
factors have changed things and we cannot get back to the original 423 stalls at the lower cost
and the best efficiency rating.
What is Chevron status ?
David and Kathleen met before Ra.ndy came into meeting. There is addit~onal work by
Centurywest, but Ra.ndy not sure what it is at this time. County was told to have equipment
off site and we are controlling site. Kathleen is running model to calculate costs. May 2185 is the
date when we take control of site. Still working on negotiations and the ~ttomeys don't
anticipate any injunctions being filed as long as negotiations a.re going towards se~tttlement.
Where are we with the Statesman? No issues discussed. Kathleen is coming back in to deal
with this issue on the table for ne~rt week.
Meeting adjourned.
