r _~ r_ Marion Coun Facilities Master Plan I~ 3.0 PLAN ~~8~~ ~ PLAN "B": VACATE FRANKLIN, SENATOR BUII..DING, AND LEASED ~- SPACES - DEVELOP A NEW PUBLiC SERVICES BUIIJDING The premise of this alternative plan is that the projected space inventory that needs ~ to be downtown will be accommodated by constructing a new Public Services Building. Based on real estate currently owned by the County, the logical location for this proposed facility is on the Senator block. The projected space needs indicate this ~ proposed facility will be built in two phases. Phase I to be constructed in the year 2003 and Phase II in the year 20l 3. ~ Projections to 2003, Phase I ~ This time frame applies to the reorganization ot the departments within the Downtown facilities only. DOWNTOWN SITE L COURTHOUSE ~ Courts, (except for the Juvenile Division), and the Law Library expand to 73,917 - NSF by 2003. This effectively fills the Courthouse and displaces all of the ~ Courthouse's other occupants. This will require accommodating 79,377 NSF in 2003 and 120,976 NSF in 2013 within a new facility. The following departments will vacate _ 26,973 NSF in the Courthouse to be used for courts expansion and relocate to the ~ new Public Services Building: Board of Commissioners g'~62 ~ County Clerk Administration, Records and Licensing Divisions 4,993 General Services Building Maintenance 5,660 2,787 (~ Legal Counsel 7 594 ~~~~ Risk Mana ement 29,796 Subtotal Net Square Feet r- By the year 2003 space needs will be accommodated in a New Public Service Building . in downtown except for the District Attorney Division, which total 11,755 NSF of ~ required space.
