ARTICLE 2 <br />OWNER <br />2.1 DEFINITION <br />2.1.1 The Owner is the person or entity identified as such <br />in the Agreement and is referred to throughout the Contract <br />Documenu as if singular in number. ~e ~} ~'= <br />~s -~#e ~~ -e~ -~e -A~eF~ ~~ -Fe~eseat~ve- _ <br />The Owner shall desiQnate its ConsWction Renresentative <br />who shall coordinate the activities of the Architect, <br />Contractor Owner's consultanu and all asvecu of the Proiect <br />on behatf of the Owner._ The Owner mav at its discretion, <br />from time to time desiQnate a new Construction <br />Rearesentative. <br />2.1.2 The Owner upon reasonable written request shall <br />furnish to the Contractor in writing information which is <br />necessary and relevant for the Contractor to evaluate, give <br />notice of or enforce mechanic's lien rights. Contractor shall confirm the <br />location of each utiti shall excavate and disnose of each <br />on-site utilitv and shall cap each off-site utilitv as required bv <br />the Work and as may be included in the Saecifications. <br />2.2.3 Except for permiu and fees which are the <br />responsibility of the Contractor under the Contract <br />Documents, the Owner shall secure and pay for necess~-~ <br />approvais, easemenu, assessmenu and charges required ~ <br />construction, use or occupancy of permanent structures or for <br />permanent changes in existing facilities. <br />2.2.4 ~€e~aF~ - Uaon recei t of a written re uest <br />therefor from the Contractor, information or services under <br />the Owner's control shall be furnished by the Owner with <br />reasonabte promptness to avoid delay in orderly progress of <br />the Work. <br />2.2.5 ~s -et~er~~se ~e~ -~ -t~e ~- <br />~>es~e~s; -~e -~~e~ras~ef ~ ~e ~; -~ee-e€~ka~g e; <br />sds# -se~ies ~€ ~gs -a~ -Ffejes~ -A~aa~s ~as ~e- <br />fi~ -~esessat~ ~ ~ces~ee ~€ -t~e -~e~{~:Unless <br />otherwise ~rovided in the Contr~act Documents, the <br />Contractor will be furnished, free of char~e• one sepia cOpy <br />of the Drawines and ten copies of the Saecifications nreaared <br />~ the Architect, and all other drawinl~s and documents <br />necessarv for the execution and com~letion of the Work shall <br />be furnished at Contractor's exaense. <br />2.2.6 The foregoing are in addition to other duties and <br />responsibilities of the Owner enumerated herein and <br />especiatly those in respect to Article 6(Construction by <br />Owner or by Separate Contractors), Article 9(Paymenu a• <br />Completion) and Article 11 (Insurance and Bonds). `~ <br />2.3 OWNER'S RIGHT TO STOP THE WORK <br />2.3.1 If the Contractor fails to correct Work which is not <br />in accordance with the requiremenu of the Contract <br />Documenu as required by Paragraph 12.2 or ~e~~ fails <br />to carry out Work in accordance with the Contract <br />Documenu, the Owner, by written order signed personally or <br />by an agent specifically so empowered by the Owner in <br />writing, may order the Contractor to stop the Work, or any <br />portion thereof, until the cause for such order has been <br />eliminated; however, the right of the Owner to stop the Work <br />shall not give rise to a duty on the part of the Owner to <br />exercise this right for the benefit of the Contractor or any <br />other person or entity, e*se~~ ~e -t~e ~te~ ~~ -~y- <br />~~-~-1-3-- This ri ht shalt be in addition to• and <br />not in restriction~ the Owner's ri hts under Subpara~raph <br />12.2. <br />2.4 OWNER'S RIGHT TO CARRY OUT THE <br />WORK <br />2.4.1 b <br />Owner-Contractor Agreement General Conditions Supplement (For AIA Doc.
