ATTACHEMENT C- INVESTMENT OPTIONS
CASH ESCROW
Financial Structures often require that cash reserve and collection account fiinds be
deposited in a designated account with an Escrow Agent or Trustee. Common practice is
then to invest the funds with an AAA-rated money market fund, which is specified as a
Permittecl or Eligible investment in the governing document.
Another commonly allowed treatment is to maintain the funds in a Demand Deposit or
Tifne Deposit with the Escrow Agent or the Trustee. At Chase, we categorize the
Demand Deposit as an Escrow or Czcstody of Cash. Our treatment of this cash is unique
and provides a number of advantages.
Funds are not held in a third party investment and are 100% liquid.
Liquidity
Deposits are held by the Global Trust Services Group in the form of Trust Fz~nds.
These funds are maintained in a segregated trust account with the Corporate Trust
Department and are not commingled with Chase's other assets. Also, there is no
operational risk which might result from failed trades since funds do not move
from the account.
Maximum Return
Balances maintained earn an attractive rate of return based upon the average
monthly balance. The Deposits also are not assessed FDIC payments, reserve
adjustments, maintenance fees or investment fees. Chase absorbs these costs.
Control
Tnist accounts are under the direct supervision of an administration officer
assigned to the relationship. In addition, the Seller/Servicer has the option to
review the accounts electronically.
Date ~Monthlv Yield*
April, 1998 5.1280%
May, 1998 5.1520%
June, 1998 5.1600%
July, 1998 5.1600%
August, 1998 5.1500%
September, 1998 5.0600%
* Rates are historical based on 1-month LIBOR less 50 bps.
