Space Programing <br />A revised summary of the county's space needs is included on tlie following page. All squaze <br />footages have been wnverted to "neP' square feet. <br />Definitions: <br />Programing for the space needs of Marion Counry has previously been reported using three <br />different terms.' They include net (useable) square feet, rentable square feet (rsf j and gross <br />squaze feet (gs~. A conversion formula is included in the assumptions below for conversion to <br />rentable and gross square footage. Net squaze footage (ns~ is defined as: <br />7he space within ihe building walTs devoted to personnel and/or furniture. It does not <br />include such things as stairs, elevators, nrair: lobby, public restrooms, ducts arrd other <br />spaces that are considered common aveas for all building tenants.2 <br />Assumptions: <br />The following assumptions have been used to calculate and project space and staff'ing needs for <br />table # 1 <br />1. Current space allocation based on temporary off"ice locations for Senator Block depts. <br />2. Groupings A-E, represents desired adjacencies <br />3. Current needs aze based on 1998 (used for schematic design purposes) <br />4. No additional space needs are projected from 1998-2005 <br />5. 2% annual growth projected from 2006-2020 <br />6. Conversion from nsf to rentable = nsf x 1.13% <br />7. Conversion from nsf to gross = nsf x 121% <br />
