Cost to bring existing Courthouse up to current codes including:
a. Earthquake standards
b. fire/life/safety standards
2. Cost to remodel existing Courthouse to accommodate County offices.
3. Check assumptions listed below.
The county staff has evaluated various options for moving administrative
offices [o the Courdiouse and other locations based on the year 2013 space
needs as defined in E~chibit 10 of the WEGroup report.
Assumptions: For the purpose of this analysis, certain assumptions have been made
regarding space needs, building costs and department locations. These
assumptions are for feasibility analysis only.
1. Option D` assumes that a tri-agency facility would be constructed.
Option DZ assumes the Sheriff retains offices (17,000 NSF) in the
Courthouse.
2. Both options assume the District Attorney will consolidate all offices in
the Courthouse.
3. The Senator Building will be demolished to accommodate a new Court-
house.
4. The Courthouse does not contain sufficient space to accommodate all
departments displaced by the demolition of the Senator building.
5. The cos[ of a new Courthouse is based on the costs set forth in option
C of the WEGRoup report (117,000 GSF x$135= $15,795,000 plus
project overhead $ _ $20,534,000.
6. Relocation of the Courts will free up approximately 46,000 NSF in flie
Courthouse.
7. Approximately 70,000 NSF of space will be remodeled in the existing
Courthouse for county offices.
~
z
