Please note that since an agreement for additional
services has not been signed by the Owners, your invoice in the amount of $35,640 is premature. I have
drawn your letterto the attention of M~. Craig Lewis, Project Manager, Melvin Maric Development Company.
We take issue with the third sentence of the first paragraph of your letter since it misrepresents the schedule
of events as well as the effort undertaken by Arbuckle Costic Architects on behalf of Cerrtury West
Engineering. The arrival of your letter further surprised us since our previous cort~espondence to you had
gone unanswered. Your failure to respond to either of the letters dated, July 26, 1999 or January 4, 2000
may have compromised ou~ ability to procure approval for an additional services agreement to cover eithe~
part o~ all of the items referred to in your letter.
As noted above, we have informed the Owner's through their project manager of your claim for additional
fees for additional services.
Sincer ,
LeonaN Lodder, AIA
Architect
LL:gnv
cc: Craig Lewis, Melvin Ma~1c Development Company
Mario
John i i , rea ass Transit
Encl.
9828.1 B
