ST <br /> <br />Completed By: Lora Sauermann, Plans Examiner <br /> <br />Approved plans and specifications shall not be changed, modified or altered without the authorization from the <br />building official and all work regulated by code shall be done in accordance with the approved plans. <br /> <br />This plan was reviewed under the 2005 Edition of the State of Oregon Residential Specialty Code (based on the <br />2003 Edition of the International One- and Two-Family Dwelling Code). <br /> <br />Mechanical, Plumbing, and Electrical systems are not covered in this review, and are required to be in <br />compliance with applicable codes. <br /> <br /> R321.1 Premises identification. <br />1. Approved numbers or addresses shall be provided for all new buildings <br />in such a position as to be plainly visible and legible from the street or road fronting the property. <br /> <br /> R309.1 Opening protection. <br />2.Openings from a private garage directly into a room used for sleeping <br />purposes shall not be permitted. Other openings between the garage and residence shall be equipped with <br />3/8 <br />solid wood doors not less than 1 (35 mm) in thickness, solid or honeycomb core steel doors not less <br />3/8 <br />than 1 (35mm) thick, or 20-minute fire-rated doors. <br />R309.1.1 Duct penetration. <br />Ducts in the garage and ducts penetrating the walls or ceilings separating <br />the dwelling from the garage shall be constructed of a minimum No. 26 gage sheet steel or other <br />approved material and shall have no openings into the garage. <br />R309.2 Separation required. <br />The garage shall be separated from the residence and its attic area by not <br />less than 1/2-inch gypsum board applied to the garage side. Garages beneath habitable rooms shall be <br />separated from all habitable rooms above by not less than 5/8-inch Type X gypsum board or equivalent. <br />Where the separation is a floor-ceiling assembly, the structure supporting the separation shall also be <br />protected by not less than 1/2-inch gypsum board or equivalent. <br />R309.3 Floor surface. <br />Garage floor surfaces shall be of approved noncombustible material. <br />The area of floor used for parking of automobiles or other vehicles shall be sloped to facilitate the <br />movement of liquids to a drain or toward the main vehicle entry doorway. <br /> <br /> R403.1.5 Minimum Footing Depth. <br />3. All exterior footings systems shall be placed at least 12 inches <br />below the finished grade on undisturbed ground surface. <br />R403.1.5.1 Frost Protection. <br /> Except where otherwise protected from frost, foundation walls, piers <br />and other permanent supports of buildings and structures shall be protected from frost by extending <br /> <br />below the frost line specified in Table R301.2(1) which is 12” in Marion County. <br /> <br />555 Court St. NE ~ P.O.
