The drainfield is installed a <br />at a very shallow depth and fill is placed over the field to <br />provide the earth cover over the system. CAPPING FILL <br />SYSTEMS MAY ONLY BE INSTALLED FROM JUNE I AND OCTOBER 1 or <br />during such times when Building Inspection staff finds soil <br />moisture conditions acceptable. See the attached "CAPPING <br />FILL" information sheet for instructions. Fill material must <br />be evenly graded over the drainfield and crowned at the <br />center to shed rainfall. <br />An EFFLUENT LIFT PUMP MAY BE REQUIRED to install the septic <br />system disposal field in the approved area and at the <br />required depth. Detailed instructions for dosing tank / <br />effluent pump installations are available in our office. The <br />electrical wiring to the pump and alarm must be installed in <br />accordance with the appropriate Electrical Code. The elec- <br />trical work must be done under a Marion County Electrical <br />Permit and must be inspected and approved by a Marion County <br />Electrical Inspector, The work must be left uncovered and <br />accessible for inspection.The electrical inspection includes <br />the connections to the pump and alarm in the dosing tank,the <br />wiring in the trench and the connections in the structure. <br />OBSERVE ALL SETBACKS AND SEPARATION DISTANCES as required by <br />the DEQ rules. The well placement is especially critical <br />and must be located at least one-hundred (100) feet from the <br />approved initial and replacement drainfield areas. A copy <br />of the DEQ setback requirements is available in our office. <br />THE ATTACHED SEPTIC TANK ABANDONMENT FORM MUST BE COMPLETED <br />AND RETURNED TO OUR OFFICE. The septic system installer <br />must complete and sign the form and attach a copy of the <br />receipt from the septic tank pumper for pumping the tank, <br />THIS SYSTEM MUST BE INSPECTED AND APPROVED PRIOR TO BACKFILL <br />When work is complete and ready for inspection, call our <br />Automated Inspection Request line at 373-4427 to request an <br />inspection. Enter the number '801" for a PRE-COVER inspec <br />tion, You may leave a message for the inspector if desired. <br />Be sure the System Record form with the As-Built drawing is <br />on the job or in our office when the inspection is requested <br />An inspection should be completed within seven (7) days. <br /> <br /> <br />
