Marion County

OREGON
COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT
DEPARTMENT

DIRECTOR
Craig O Luedeman

BUILDING INSPECTION
?5031 58S-5147

P~ANNING &
ENFORCEMENT
~503; 588-5038

8CARD OF

To: Raymond Bartel April 9, 1999
P.O. Box 700
Oregon City, Or. 97045

From: Zan Ewing

Re: Site #99-02196 23200 Hubbard Cutoff rd.. NE, Aurora, OR..

Dear Mr. Bartel,

The property for which you have requested a soils/site evaluation was visited and
reviewed by myself and Lee Grimes from this office. The site is mapped as the Amity
soil series and is extremely marginal due to high winter groundwater predicted from 12" to
19" of the ground surface.

We have the flexibility to grant a rural variance to certain DEQ standards for agricultural
related activities ifa proposal is submitted that wilt ovemome the soil limitation and not
become a public health hazard. The maximum flow for a facility under this provision is
600 gallons per day.

Attached is a request for Rural Area Consideration which we will need completed along
with a detailed proposal. If the total flow exceeds 600 gallons per day it will need to be
evaluated as a DEQ variance or a WPCF permit (Water Pollution Control Facility).

It is suggested that you obtain the services of someone who is very familiar with onsite
waste disposal systems and can do the design and consulting work on this site for you. It
is also my suggestion that the system be proposed including any future expansions dealing
with future septic issues now rather than going thru this again.

Give me a call if you would like to discuss this or if you have any questions on this matter.

Sincerely,

Community Development Center - 3150 Lancaster Dr NE, Suite C - Salem, Oregon 97305-1398
