10. 11. 2. An uncoated No. 4 reinforcing bar stubbed up at least 12 inches above the floor plate line and tightly attached tu the reinforcing bar located in the footing. The spliced lap of the stubbed up bar to the footing bar shall be a minimum of 12 inches. EVERY SLEEPING ROOM shall have at least one openable window or exterior door approved for emergency egress or rescue. The window sill height shall not be more than 44 inches above the floor. The minimum net clear opening is 5.7 square feet. The minimum net clear opening height shall be 22 inches. The minhnum net clear opening width shall be 20 inches. Exception: Grade floor windows may have a minimum net clear opening of 5 square feet. THE GARAGE shall be separated fi.om the dwelling and its attic area by moans of I/2-inch gypsum board applied to the garage side of the wall. Where the separation is a floor-ceiling assembly, the structure supporting the separation shall be protected by 1/2-inch gypsum board or equivalent. The door between the garage and residence shall be equipped with solid wood doors not less than I 3/8 inches in thickness or 20- minute fire rated, or equivalent. SMOKE DETECTORS shall bo installed ia each sleeping room, outside of each separate sleeping area in the immediate vicinity of the bedrooms and on each additional story of the dwelling including basements. Ail detectors shall be interconnected such that the actuation of one alarm will actuate all the alarms in the individual unit and shall provide an alarm which will be audible in all sleeping areas. Smoke detectors shall be 110 volt with battey back-ul~. SMOKE DETECTOR/POWER. Required smoke detectors shall receive their primary power from the building wiring when such wiring is served from a commercial source, and when primary power is inter- rupted, shall receive ~aower from a battery. Smoke detectors may be battery operated when installed in buildings without commercial power. FIRESTOPPING shall be provided in the following locations: 1) In concealed spaces of stud walls, including furred spaces not to exceed 10 feet horizontally, and at the ceiling and floor level. 2) At all interconneetions between concealed vertical and horizontal spaces such as occur at soffits, drop or cove ceilings, etc. 3) In concealed spaces between stair stringers at the top and bottom of the nm and wall cavities in line with the stringers; 4) At openings around vents, pipes, ducts, chimneys and fireplaces at ceiling and floor level, with noncomlmsfible materials. HEATING AND COOLING appliances located in a garage shall be protected from impact by automobiles. Appliances that generate a glow, spark or flame capable of igniting gasoline vapors located in a garage shall be installed with burners, burner ignition devices or heating elements and switches at least 18 inches above the floor level. WATER HEATERS shall be anchored or strapped to the building to resist horizontal displacemem due to earth~mke motion. TRUSS DESIGN. Roof trusses are required to be designed by aa Oregon registered Engineer or Architect. For trusses manufactured by an approved fabrication plant, have the design and layout drawings available at the construction site for the framing inspection. All job site cutting or modification of the roof trusses shall be clearly shown in the engineer's design calculations and drawings.
