DATE/TIME <br />TYPE <br />OCCUPANCY <br />CONST TYPE <br />UGB: SITE: <br /> <br />12, <br /> <br /> BUILDING PERMIT <br />08/21/98 12:41 <br />Commercial addition/alteration <br />S-5 <br />II-N <br /> <br />13, <br /> <br />14. <br /> <br />15, <br /> <br />16, <br /> <br />17. <br /> <br />18. <br /> <br />19, <br /> <br />20, <br /> <br />21, <br /> <br /> PERMIT NO 98-06929 <br /> STATUS ISSUED <br /> ISSUED 08/21/1998 <br /> TO EXPIRE 02/17/1999 <br /> PAGE 3 <br />This is a Plan Review covering the TENANT IMPROVEMENT in the <br />Hangar D-8 at the Aurora Airpark, <br />Improvement consists of office and storage areas. <br />Plans have been reviewed for compliance with the provisions <br />of the 1996 Edition ('94 UBC) Oregon Structural Specialty <br />Code. <br />This Tenant Improvement consists of a new private office. <br />two storage areas and restroom. <br /> <br />TYPE OF CONSTRUCTION, (OSSC Sec 603,1) <br />The existing building was classified as Type II-N <br />construction, therefore, materials used shall be as follows: <br />* The structural elements - noncombustible m~terials. <br />* Floor construction - noncombustible materials, provided. <br />however, that a wood surface or finish may be applied over <br />such noncombustible materials. <br />* Walls and permanent partitions - noncombustible materials. <br />* Materials of construction and fire-resistive requirments <br />shall be as specified in Section 601, <br />* For requirements due to occupancy, see Chapter 3. <br />SPECIAL HAZARD, (OSSC Sec 204,7) <br />Storage and use of flammable and combustible liquids shall <br />be in accordance with the Fire Code. <br />STAIRWAY CONSTRUCTION. (OSSC Sec 602.4) <br />Stairways in Type II-N buildings shall be of noncombustible <br />construction. <br />Stairways shall comply with the requirements of Chapter lO, <br />STAIRWAY WIDTH. (OSSC Sec 1006~2) <br />The minimum stairway width serving an occupant load of 49 or <br />less shall not be less than 26 inches. <br />Handrails may project into the required width a distance of <br />2-1/2 inches from each side of a stairway. Stringers and <br />other projections such as trim and similar decorative <br />features may project into the required width I-I/2 inches on <br />each side. <br />HANDRAILS. (OSSC Sec 1006.9) <br />The top of handrails and handrail extensions shall be placed <br />not less than 24 inches or more than 28 inches above the <br />nosing of treads and landings, Handrails shall be continuous <br />the full length of the stairs and. except for private stair- <br />ways. at least one handrail shall extend in the direction of <br />the stair run not less than 12 inches beyond the top riser <br />nor less than 12 inches beyond the bottom riser. Ends shall <br />be returned or shall terminate in newel posts or safety <br />terminals. <br /> HANDRAILS. cont'd: <br />The handgrip portion of handrails shall not be less than <br />I-I/4 inches nor more than 2 inches in cross-sectional <br />dimension or the shape shall provide an equivalent gripping <br />surface. The handgrip portion of handrails shall have a <br />smooth surface with no sharp corners. <br /> Handrails projecting from a wall shall have a space of not <br /> less than 1-1/2 inches between the wall and the handrail, <br /> INTERIOR STAIRWAY CONSTRUCTION. <br /> Except when enclosed usable space under stairs is prohibited <br /> by Section 1009,6. the walls and soffits of the enclosed <br /> space shall be protected on the enclosed side as required <br /> for one-hour fire-resistive construction. <br /> GUARDRAILS. (OSSC Sec 509) <br /> Unenclosed floor and roof openings, open glazed sides of <br /> stairways, landings and ramps, baclonies, which are more <br /> than 30 inches above grade or floor below, and roofs used <br /> for other than service of the building shall be protected by <br /> a guardrail. <br /> The top of guardrails shall not be less than 42 inches in <br /> height. <br /> GUARDPJNIL OPENINGS. (OSSC Sec 509.3) <br /> Open guardrails shall have intermediate rails or an <br /> ornamental pattern such that a sphere 4 inches in diameter <br /> <br /> <br />
