ACCEPTABILITY, This plan review covers the addition to and/ or alteration of an existing structure. This review is not intended to prohibit the building inspector from requesting an evaluation of the acceptability of existing structural members that may appear to be unsafe. Existing construction not specifically detailed in the submitted plans and struc- tural calculations is beyond the scope of this review, 5. SMOKE DETECTORS / ALTERATIONS. When alterations, repairs or additions requiring a permit occur, or when sleeping rooms are added er created, the entire building shall be provided with smoke detectors located as required for new dwellings: the smoke detectors shall be interconnected and hard wired. EXCEPTION: Detectors shall not be required to be inter- connected and hard wired where the alterations, repairs, or additions do not result in the exposure Of electrical wiring by the removal of interior wall and ceiling finishes, [Sec. 216.1,1] 6. VAPOR BARRIER, An approved vapor barrier with joints lapped not less than 12 inches shall be placed between the concrete floor slab and the base course or subgrade. Exception: The vapor barrier may be omitted from detached garages~ utility buildings and ether unheated accessory structures. [Sec. 505.2,2] 7. Roof trusses are required to be be designed by an Oregon registered Engineer or Architect. For trusses manufactured by an approved fabrication plant, have the design and layout drawings available at the construction site for the framing inspection. All jobsite cutting or modifications of the rooftrusses shall be clearly shown in the engineer's design calculations and drawings. 9. EGRESS / REMODEL. If an existing bedroom Emergency Egress Window is being removed in the construction of the addition or remodel, then another egress window or an exterior door shall be installed in that bedroom. 10.
