THIS PLAN REVIEW WAS COMPLETED BY DWALTERS ON 8/6/98. <br /> 1996 CODE. <br />3, Approval of submitted plans is not an approval of omissions <br /> or oversights by this office or of noncompliance with any <br /> applicable regulations of local government. <br />4. ACCEPTABILITY, This plan review covers the addition to and/ <br /> or alteration of an existing structure. This review is not <br /> intended to prohibit the building inspector from requesting <br /> an evaluation of the acceptability of existing structural <br /> members that may appear to be unsafe. Existing construction <br /> not specifically detailed in the submitted plans and struc- <br /> tural calculations is beyond the scope of this review, <br /> 5. SMOKE DETECTORS / ALTERATIONS. When alterations, repairs or <br /> additions requiring a permit occur, or when sleeping rooms <br /> are added er created, the entire building shall be provided <br /> with smoke detectors located as required for new dwellings: <br /> the smoke detectors shall be interconnected and hard wired. <br /> EXCEPTION: Detectors shall not be required to be inter- <br /> connected and hard wired where the alterations, repairs, or <br /> additions do not result in the exposure Of electrical wiring <br /> by the removal of interior wall and ceiling finishes, <br /> [Sec. 216.1,1] <br />6. VAPOR BARRIER, An approved vapor barrier with joints lapped <br /> not less than 12 inches shall be placed between the concrete <br /> floor slab and the base course or subgrade. Exception: The <br /> vapor barrier may be omitted from detached garages~ utility <br /> buildings and ether unheated accessory structures. <br /> [Sec. 505.2,2] <br />7. BP, This structure uses Brace Wall Panels (BP) to meet the <br /> code requirement for lateral wall bracing. Insure that all <br /> BP's are located as indicated on the plans, <br />8. TRUSS DESIGN. Roof trusses are required to be be designed by <br /> an Oregon registered Engineer or Architect. For trusses <br /> manufactured by an approved fabrication plant, have the <br /> design and layout drawings available at the construction <br /> site for the framing inspection. All jobsite cutting or <br /> modifications of the rooftrusses shall be clearly shown in <br /> the engineer's design calculations and drawings. <br />9. EGRESS / REMODEL. If an existing bedroom Emergency Egress <br /> Window is being removed in the construction of the addition <br /> or remodel, then another egress window or an exterior door <br /> shall be installed in that bedroom. <br />10. ENERGY PATH #1 is based on R-21 wall insulation, R-25 under- <br /> floor insulation, R-30 vaulted ceiling insulation, R-38 flat <br /> ceiling insulation. R-15 below grade wood. concrete or <br /> masonry walls, R-15 slab floor edge insulation, R-8 forced <br /> air duct insulation, 0.40 U-value window class. 0.50 U-value <br /> skylight class, 0,54 U-value main entry door, (with a max- <br /> imum area of 24 square feet) all other exterior doors, in- <br /> cluding the door between the heated drilling and the un- <br /> heated garage, 0.20 U-value. <br />11. SMOKE DETECTORS shall be installed in each sleeping room, <br /> outside of each separate sleeping area in the immediate <br /> vicinity of the bedrooms and on each additional story of the <br /> dwelling including basements. All detectors located outside <br /> sleeping rooms shall be interconnected such that the <br /> actuation of one alarm will actuate these alarms in the <br /> individual unit and shall provide an alarm which will be <br /> <br /> <br />
