Zone thermostatic controls, where used to control both com- <br /> fort heating and cooling, shall be capable of provideing a <br /> temperature range or dead band of at least 5 degree <br /> fahrenheit within which the supply of heating and cooling <br /> energy to the zone is shut off or reduced to a minimum, <br /> Sec. 1313.1,3.2.1 <br />3. Heating, cooking, air conditioning and similar service <br /> equipment are required to be approved and listed by a <br /> nationally recognized testing agency, such as Underwriters <br /> Laboratories, Inc., and to be installed in compliance with <br /> the agency's specifications and recognized safe practices. <br /> The installation of ventilation systems is required to be <br /> in substantial compliance with the 1993 Mechanical <br /> Specialty Code. <br />4. Provide a supply of outside fresh combustion air to the <br /> room or area containing the gas fired appliance in <br /> accordance with the installation instruction of the <br /> appliances and Chapter 7 of the UMC. <br />5. Openings are required to be protection with a 3/4 hour fire <br /> resistibe assembly when the wall is within 20 of the <br /> property line. This requirement is not applicable to a wall <br /> that is at right angles to the property line, Table 5-A UBC <br />6. Please provide an isometric drawing of the gas piping layout <br /> serving all the gas fired appliances. This drawing needs to <br /> identifly appliance Btu's, length of pipe runs, pipe size <br /> a~d the pressure of the gas being distributed through the <br /> pipe. <br /> <br /> <br />
