ACCEPTABILITY, This plan review covers the addition to and/ <br /> or alteration of an existing structure, This review is not <br /> intended to prohibit the building inspector from requesting <br /> an evaluation of the acceptability of existing structural <br /> members that may appear to be unsafe. Existing construction <br /> not specifically detailed in the submitted plans and struc- <br /> tural calculations is beyond the scope of this review. <br />4. THERE ARE NO DECK CONSTRUCTION DETAILS ON THE PLANS. THERE- <br /> FORE. THE DECK IS NOT COVERED IN THIS PLAN REVIEW, <br />5, LOT DPO~INAGE, Lots shall be provided with adequate drainage <br /> and shall be graded so as to drain surface water away from <br /> foundation walls, The grade away from foundation walls shall <br /> fall a minimum of 6 inches within the first 10 feet. Where <br /> lot lines, walls or other physical barriers prohibit <br /> 6 inches of fall within lO feet, drains or other approved <br /> means shall be provided to ensure positive drainage, <br /> [Sec, 401.3] <br />6. SMOKE DETECTORS / ALTERATIONS. When alterations, repairs or <br /> additions requiring a permit occur, or when sleeping rooms <br /> are added or created, the entire building shall be provided <br /> with smoke detectors located as required for new dwellings: <br /> the smoke detectors shall be interconnected and hard wired. <br /> EXCEPTION: Detectors shall not be required to be inter- <br /> connected and hard wi red where the alterations, repairs, or <br /> additions do not result in the exposure of electrical wiring <br /> by the removal of interior wall and ceiling finishes, <br /> [Sec. 316.1.1] <br />7, SMOKE DETECTORS shall be installed in each sleeping room. <br /> outside of each separate sleeping area in the immediate <br /> vicinity of the bedrooms and on each additional story of the <br /> dwelling including basements. All detectors located outside <br /> sleeping rooms shall be interconnected such that the <br /> actuation of one alarm will actuate these alarms in the <br /> individual unit and shall provide an alarm which will be <br /> audible in all sleeping areas. Smoke detectors shall be <br /> ilo volt with batter back-up. [Sec. 316,1] <br />8. POOL BARRIERS. Any outdoor swimming pool, spa, or hot tub, <br /> that contains water over 24 inches deep. whether in-ground, <br /> above ground, or on-ground, shall meet the barrier require- <br /> ments of this code. [Appendix D] See attached detail sheet <br /> for requirements. The Final Inspection cannot be signed off <br /> until these requirements are met. EXCEPTION: A swimming <br /> pool with a powered safety cover or a hot tub or spa which <br /> complies with AS1}t F1346-91, as listed in Section Di07, <br /> shall be exempt from the provisions of this appendix. <br /> <br /> <br />
