Lots shall be provided with adequate drainage and shall be graded so as to drain surface water away from foundation walls. The grade away from foundation walls shall fall a minimum of 6 inches within the first 10 feet. Where lot lines, walls or other physical barriers prohibit 6 inches of fall within 10 feet, drains or other approved means shall be provided to ensure positive drainage. [Sec. 401,2] 4, GARAGE/CARPORT FLOOR. That area of floor used for the ~arking of automobiles or other vehicles shall be sloped to acilitate the movement of liquids to a drain or toward the main vehicle entry doorway, [Sec. 309.3] 5. VAPOR BARRIER, An approved vapor barrier with joints lapped not less than 12 inches shall be placed between the concrete floor slab and the base course or subgrade~ Exception: The vapor barrier may be omitted from detached garages, utility buildings and other unheated accessory structures, [Sec, 505.2.2] 6. SAFETY GLAZING / AT DOOR, The following shall be considered specific hazardous locations for the purposes of glazing: Glazing, in an individual fixed or operable panel adjacent to a door where the nearest vertical edge is w~thin a 24 inch arc of the door in a closed position and whose bottom edge is less than 60 inches above the floor or walking surface. Exception: Safety glazing is not required when there is an intervening wall or other permanent barrier between the door and the glazing. 8. SAFETY GLAZING / TUBS. The following shall be considered specific hazardous locations for the purposes of glazing. Glazing in doors and enclosures for hot tubs, whirlpools saunas, steam rooms, bathtubs, showers; glazing in any part of a building wall enclosing these compartments where the bottom edge of the glazing is less than 60 inches above the drain outlet. 9. EVERY SLEEPING ROOM shall have at least one openable window or exterior door approved for emergency egress or rescue~ The window sill height shall not be more than 44 inches above the floor. The minimum net clear opening is 5.7 square feet, The minimum net clear opening height shall be 22 inches, The minimum net clear opening width shall be 20 inches, Exception: Grade floor windows may have a minimum net clear opening of 5 square feet, [Sec. 310.2, 310,2.1] 10. SMOKE DETECTORS shall be installed qn each sleeping room, outside of each separate sleeping area in the immediate vicinity of the bedrooms and on each additional story of the dwelling including basements.
