THIS PLAN REVIEW WAS COMPLETED BY DWALTERS ON 2/12/98, <br /> 1996 CODE, <br />2, Approval of submitted plans is not an approval of omissions <br /> or oversights by this office or of noncompliance with any <br /> applicable regulations of local government. <br />2, ACCEPTABILITY. This plan review covers the addition to and/ <br /> or alteration of an existing structure. This review is not <br /> intended to prohibit the building inspector from requesting <br /> an evaluation of the acceptability of existing structural <br /> members that may appear to be unsafe. Existing construction <br /> not specifically detailed in the submitted plans and struc <br /> tural calculations is beyond the scope of this review, <br />4, SMOKE DETECTORS / ALTEP~qTIONS. When alterations, repairs or <br /> additions are made to an existing dwelling, the entire <br /> building shall be provided with smoke detectors located as <br /> required for new dwellings. The smoke detectors are not <br /> required to be interconnected unless other remodeling con- <br /> siderations require removal of the appropriate wall and <br /> ceiling coverings to facilitate interconnecting wiring, <br /> [Section 316,1.1] <br />5. SMOKE DETECTORS shall be installed in each sleeping room, <br /> outside of each separate sleeping area in the immediate <br /> vicinity of the bedrooms and on each additional story of the <br /> dwelling including basements, All detectors shall be inter- <br /> connected such that the actuation of one alarm will actuate <br /> all the alarms in the individual unit and shall provide an <br /> alarm which will be audible in all sleeping areas. <br /> [Section 216,1] Smoke detectors shall be 11D volt with <br /> battery back-up. [Sec. 216.2] <br />6. BP, ABP ATTACHED, This structure uses a combination of <br /> Brace Wall Panels (BP) and Alternate Braced Wall Panels <br /> (ABP)to meet the code requirements for lateral wall bracing, <br /> Insure that all BP's and ABP's are located as indicated on <br /> the plans and constructed as shown on the plans and the <br /> attached detail sheets. <br />7. ADD A RIDGE SUPPORT AT 2' OFF OF THE EXISTING ROOF SYSTEM, <br /> USE 2X4 MATERIAL, <br />8. EVERY SLEEPING ROOM shall have at least one openable window <br /> or exterior door approved for emergency egress or rescue. <br /> The window sill height shall not be more than 44 inches <br /> above the floor. The minimum net clear opening is 5,7 square <br /> feet. The minimum net clear opening height shall be 22 <br /> inches, The minimum net clear opening width shall be 20 <br /> inches, Exception: Grade floor windows may have a minimum <br /> net clear opening of 5 square feet.
