SMOKE DETECTORS / ALTERATIONS. When alterations, repairs or <br /> a~ditions are made to an existing dwellil~g, the entire <br /> buildinq shall be provided with smoke detectors located as <br /> require~ for new dwellings. The smoke detectors are not <br /> required to be interconnected unless other remodeling con- <br /> siderations require removal of the appropriate wail and <br /> ceiling coverings to facilitate interconnecting wiring. <br /> [Section <br />l~. SMOKE DETECTORS shall be installed in each sleeping room= <br /> outside of each separate sleeping area i~ the immediate <br /> vicinity of the bedrooms and on each additional story of the <br /> d#e]iing including base, ants. All detectors shall be inter- <br /> connected such that the actuation of one alarm will actuate <br /> all the alarms in the individual unit and shall provide an <br /> alarm which will he audible in ail sleeping areas. <br /> [Section ~16.1] Smoke Eetectors shall be ~10 volt ~ith <br /> batter hack-up. [~ec. 316.2] <br />17. VENT E~TENSIDN / ROOF. All plumbing vents, exhaust vents, <br /> and ali air intakes~ such as: bathr~m or ~itchen fans, <br /> woodstove or gas vents, air intakes~ and aL1 other such <br /> vents, shall ~e ex~ende~ through the flew roof system in an <br /> approved manner.
