April 26, 1994 APPLICANT: SITE NUMBER: STANDARD SYSTEM CONSTRUCTION DETAIL SHEET ARNOLD ADKINS 94-1466 Your site has been found suitable for a STANDARD ON-SITE SEWAGE DISPOSAL SYSTEM. The following construction specifications shall apply to the installa- tion of your septic system. 1. The septic tank shall have a minimum liquid capacity of 1000 gallons. The projected daily sewage flow for this project is calculated at 450 aallons Der day. Based on soil conditions observed on this site, the disposal field will be sized at 150 lineal feet Der 150 qallons of projected daily sewage flow. A minimum of 450 lineal feet of disposal field will be required for your proposed develop- ment. The disposal trenches are constructed two (2) feet wide and on minimum ten (10) foot centers and with no line exceeding 125 feet in length. The trenches and perforated pipe are installed level (±1") and contoured to follow the natural ground surface. The disposal field shall be constructed with serial distribution with a minimum trench depth of 24 inches and a maximum trench depth of 24 inches. There must be at least 12 inches of backfill over the top of the gravel, measured from the natural ground surface. A groundwater interceptor is required as part of this system. This interceptor trench must be constructed a minimum twelve (12) inches wide by 42 inches deep with 36 inches of clean gravel placed over a four (4) inch smooth wall perforated pipe. The interceptor must be located at least ten (10) feet upslope from the disposal field and must discharge through a watertight, non- perforated pipe beside or below the disposal field. A separation of 25 feet is required from the septic tank if the tank is located upslope of the groundwa- ter interceptor. This approval is site specific to the area tested and the septic system must be located in the immediate area of the test pits unless otherwise autho- rized by this office. A new site evaluation may be required if the system is proposed for a different area on the property. SPECIAL CONDITIONS: The drainfields must be installed within the immediate area of the two easterly soil test pits and no farther downslope. Note, that the westerly test pit is dug beyond the property line. A pre-construction field stakeout is recommended to establish the locations and elevations of the individual drainfield lines for both systems prior to siting any wells and any excavation. Refer to the enclosed stakeout procedure and the setback list for details to complete the stakeout. Note, especially the required separation distance between the septic tank and curtain drain depending upon whether the tank is above or below the curtain drain.
