A~ a result of that inve~tigation, it has b~en determined that the site SpeCified on your applica- tion does net qualify for a standard eepti0 system or any of the alternative systems. Th~ conditions on the Site do not meet the minimum requirements of the Department of Environmental Quality On-Sit~ sewage Disposal Rule~, These rules are specified in oregon Administrative Rules, Chapter 340, Division 71, Sections 100 through 600. consequently, this site must be denied. The principal reasons for denial of this site are related to parcel size and setbacks. The following paragraphs outline the specific reasons for this d~nial, PARCEL SIZE AND SETBACKS: 1. There is insufficient area on the property for installation of an approved on-sit~ septic system which will meet th~ setbacks as required in %he D,~.Q. rule~. The ~etbacks which are of particular concern are circled on the attached sheet. Each lot or parcel must have sufficient usable area available to accommodate an initial and replacement septic system. ADDITIONAL COM2~NT$= We can re-consider this proper~y wi~h a de=ailed ~ield stakeout to establish whether there may be enough area to construct any of the alternativ~ septic systems. Refer to the enclosed stakeout procedure for details to prepare the site for re-evaluation. The property corners and property lines must be clearly flagged and atr~g for location. If you choose to prepare the property for re-evaluation, notify this office of your ~equest in writinq and within ninety (90) days Of the initial site evaluation. The alternative SAND FILTER system appears most likely fo~ re-consideratien, becauS~ less drainfield is necessary. The required amount of drainline for each drainfield of the sand filter system for the proposed th&es residence ie ninety (90) lineal fe~t. The amount of d=ainZield line for each ~rainfield of a Standard system for the same residence is 225 lineal feet. The lines must be contoured to the natural landform surface, configured in serial distribution, with the drainline trenches limited to ~4 inches deep ~ini~um and 30 inches deep maximum. A list of licensed septic syste~ installers is enclosed for your convenience. Any of the~e installers should be able to assist you in preparing the site for re-evaluation.
