,Marion Cou_nt l
OREGON
COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT
DEPARTMENT

September 14~ 1994

SANTXAM GOLF CLUE
C/O E~L~RY ~ SONS

STAYTON, OREGON 97383

S~JECT:

SITE #94-2992, T;SS, R;iW, S=33C, T/L:1000, 75 ACRES
SITE ADDRESS: 8724 GOLF CLUB RD SE. AU~SVILLE, OR 97383

An evaluatio~ has been made of the above described property proposed
installation of an on-site sewage disposal system. AB a result of that
i~estlgation, it ha~ been ~etermined that the site spe~ified on your applica-
tion does not qualify for a standard septic system or any of the alternative
systems. The conditions on the site do net meet the minimum requirements of
the Department of Environmental Quality On-Site sewage Disposal Rules. These
rulss are specified in Or~gen Ad~inistrativ~ Rules, Chapter 3~0~ Division 71,
Sections 10O through 600. Consequently, this site must be denied.

The princiDal reasons fo= denial of this site are related to ehailow water
table~. The following paragraphs outline the specific reason~ for this denial.

WATER TABLES:
1. A water table, as indicated by conditions a~sociated with ~atura-
tics, was observed on the property as follows:
a. Evidenoe of a ~easonal water ~able was observed at 4to
inche~ b~low the ground surface. These meaSur~en%s were to
the depth of %he sell mottling or tO th. ~ctual depth o~ an
observed water table.
2. The above conditions do no~ meet the minimum D.E,Q. rules pertain-
ing to s~andard and alternative sewage systems. The minimum
requirements are listed below~
a. A ~easo~al qro~ndwate~ table cannot be less ~han ~6 i0¢he
below the ground surface for installation of a standard
septic system or )4 in~hes fox installation of any of the
alternative systems.

ADDITIONAL COPLFiENTS=
A unconventional system that ~ight be considered for limited rest-room
u~e is a holding tank during the rainy winter season, with a provision for the
tank ~o discharge into shallow drainfield lines during the dry soil,
season. The rest-room use is expected to be greater during the a~mmer ~eason
when the soil conditions can bett~r pro,ess the daily sewage flow load. Dan
Bush with the D.E.Q. has designed similar systems ~o~ baseball parks that
use only during the sumpter s~asons. I recommend that you consult with Dan Gush
for additional information aC the D.E.Q. Salem office, Phone; 378-8240.

Call, if you have any questions. I am uzually in th~ office between S & 10
MARION COUNTY, BUILDING INSPECTIONS
