Marion County

OREGON
CO,/VIM U NI"rY i)~cVELOPMENT
O~,PAR, TM£N'F

Jack Hogan
2575 SW Palisades Crs~t Dr.
Lake O~wego, Oregon 9703~

SUBJECT~

SITE ~94-00756, T:4S~ R:lw, $;11
8%TE ADDP~SS~ 14397 Keil Rd. N~, Aurora

An evaluation has been made o~ ~he above described property proposed for
installation of ab on-site sewage disposal system. As a result of that
investigation, it has been determined that the sits Specified O~ your applica-
tion does not qualify for a standard septic ~y~tem or any of the alternative
systems. The conditions on =he site do not s~et the minimu~ ~e~uir~nts of
the Department of Enviro~eetal Quali~y On-Site Sewage Disposal Rules. These
rules are specified in Oregon Administrative Ruins, Chapter 340~ Division 71,
sections 100 through 600. Consequently, thi~ ~ite must be ~enfe~.

The principal reasons fo~ denial of this site are related to water tables. The
following paragraphs outline the specific reasons for this denial.

WATER TABLZS=
1. A water table, as indicated by conditioas associated with satura-
tion, was observed on the property as follows~
a. Evidenoe of a temno~arv., water table was obse=ve~ at 1--0
~ bolow the ground surpass, Thess measurements were to
the depth Of the soil mottling or tO the actual depth of a~
observed water table.
2. The above conditions do ~Ot meet the minimum D.E.Q. rules ps,rain-
ing to standard and alternative sewag~ ~ystems, The minimum
requimements are listed below:
a. A temDor.a~v ~roundwat. er tabl~ cannot be le~s than 24 inches
below the groun~ surface rom installation of a standard
septic system or .l~inches for installation of any of the
alternative systems.

It should be noted that this study was done 0sly in the area prope~ed on you~
application for on-site sewage disposal. Within t~e boundaries of your proper-
ty, it is possible that soil ~onditions in a different area of the property
may b~ differen~ than those examined in the existing test pits. If you feel
that better soil conditions may exis~ in another area of the property,
additional test bits will be inspected with no additional uharg~. Prepare and
submit a new site plan showing the new area proposed for evaluation. Notify
this office of your request in writing and within ninety (90) days of the
initial site evaluation.

ADDITIONAL COFR<ENTS:
Water was 0bserv~d in both te~t pits at 0" to 6" during the ~irst visit
to the property, subsequent visits found the water table at 10" below the
surface, Rainfall, at Salem, is approximat~ky 12 inches below normal for the
current weather yea~. Since the land is basically flat, i~ is doubtful that
soil conditions will vary significantly on the p=0perty.
