IMA~£ALLATION OF 1,000 GALLON AND 1,500 GALLON SEPTIC
TANKS AND DOMING-SEPTIC TANE$

ALL TANKS must be set level on undisturbed earth o~ sand beddlng
~o prevent settlelng. Use 3/4" Kent Seal #2 or approwed equal
so ~eal all field joints. If joints mus~ be disturbed, replace
all old Kent Meal with new material. If Kent Seal is unavailable,
an acceptable subs$1tute is grou~ made with hydrollc eemen~
mixed lm the specified proportions.

ALL dosing-septic Sands should be water ~eSted when ln~$~lled,
before back~fillln~ and before hooklmg up $o Sewer pipe, to
test ~or leakage and ~o preve~ floating in high wa~er areas.

2'LOAT level control~ in 1,0O0 gallon doslng-septlc tank are to
be se~ as follows:

With regar4 to the pump controls, a 4 inch cycle is required for all new
single family dwelling building sites. Thi~ is a minimum criteria for
standard systems, but a maximUm criteria for those systems utilizing
pressurized d%stribution. Based upon the original engineering ~pecifi-
cations for the dosing~septi¢ tank, the off-level can be no greater than
%41-5 ihches from the bottom of the tank~ Measuring from the top exteri.-
or of the tank, the off-level would then measure 21.§ inches. This way,
as according to DEQ rules, the tank would have a remaining capacity
after*cycle of 900 gallons~ With a 4 inch Cyo!e, the pump on-level
would then measure 17.5 inches, again measured from the top exterior
edge of ~he tank. With re~ard to the alarm, which has.been the compo-
nent of the p=eset controls found to be out of coordination, for teaser, s
of providing some level of storage volume within the tank, an operating
level of 15 inches has been established. In this way, a zone between
the pump on-level and the alarm of 1.5 inches can be maintained and at
least 3 inches or approximately 6~ gallons of storage volume can be
provided %]pon alarm signal. To make things simpler for the construction
~ndustry, we have b~en operating on the following measurements~

Pump Off 21 inches; Pump On - 17 inches, Alarm'- .]5 inches.

all of which are measured from a straight edge~ laid across the top
exterior of the tank. where the OreDco bucket Js used, we bare ad~d
factor of 1 inch to account for the raised edq~ of the b~cket which
~ould increace each of these measurements accordingly.

Measurements for 1,500 gallon tank from top of tank are the came,
only ~he remaining capacity changes.*

Note to home owners: ALL tanks should be pumped every five (5)
years for ~he average family of five (J). This is go prevent
serious sludge damage tO the leach fields.
