Box 138
Sublimity, OR 97385

R~: WQ-Brucs Pa~king Con,any, Inc.
~arion County

This will confirm my review of your wastewater treatment and disposal facilities
at your meat processing plant on August 31, 1984. During my review, I learned
the following:

No longer is any beef butchering done at your plant. Im~tead, you process
beef carcasses for many different wholesale ~seS.

You estimate that clean-up of floors, tables, and equipment generates 5,000
gallons of ~astewater per day.

3. You employ approximately 60 people.

Ail sanitary waste plus processing clean-rip wastewater is discharged into
an oarthen lagoon located approximately 100 ft. south of your plant.

The lagoon has a surface area of a~proximatsly 2,000 square feet.
irrigation or surface discharge of the waste occurs as the lagoon seeps.

Cattle have ready aocess to the lagoon.

AS discussed, your current waste disposal practices are unacceptable, and the following
options are availabl~ to resolve the matte~:

Sei~rate the sardta~y from ~he pro~essing wastewater and install an on-site
sewage disposal system to receive ~ waste. TO do this, you need to Obtain
plumbing and septic tank permits f~om F~ion C0umty Building Department.
With this option, the processing wastewater would continue to d~scharge
into the earthen ssel~age lagoon.

Install a septic system large enough to ac~0~mO~ats the c~mbine~ flow~.
To proceed with this Option, you need to have a qualified coas~ltant
pre~re engineering plans of the symT~_m a~d submit them to the Department
along with the attached application for an o~eration and construction

MARION COUNTY
BUILDING INSPECTION
