OSSC Section 903.2 did not exist, at least in the current format, of <br /> requiring sprinklers when the fire area exceeds 12.000 SF. OSSC 706.3.6 Incidental <br /> Use Areas requires the fire barrier to not be less than that required per Table 506.2. - <br /> This states that for storage usages exceeding 100 square feet the protection should be <br /> 1-hour fire-resistance. This indicates a level of separation that meets what has already <br /> been provided between the usages. Therefore we are asking to use a 1-hour fire- <br /> resistive fire barrier for our project. <br /> Under previous code the usage to the east was hay storage. Now the area is used for <br /> production support and product storage in the lame cooler and freezer. Heavy amounts <br /> of combustible materials used to be stored in this building for usage in the adjoining <br /> manufacturing building to the south. These materials are now stored in a new, separate <br /> storage building to the east.
