Newton Associates, Inc. (DNA) is pleased to present the results of our
geotechnical investigation for the Aurora cell site. The investigation was performed in
accordance with our proposal dated June 7, 1995.

PURPOSE AND SCOPE OF INVESTIGATION

This report has been prepared for GTE Mobilnet and their consultants for use in project
design and construction, and presents conclusions regarding general subsurface
conditions at the Aurora cell site and foundation design recommendations for the
monopole and the switch building.

DESCRIPTION OF THE PROJECT

A cellular phone transmission cell will be constructed on a portion of undeveloped land
south of Ehlen Road and east of Dolores Way in Aurora, Oregon. The cell will consist
of a 150-foot high, steel monopole and a switch building. The approximate location of
the site is shown on Figure 1. The layout of the site is shown on the Site Plan in Fibre
2.

The monopole will have a base diameter of approximately 59 inches. Maximum design
loads on the monopole are estimated ;o be approximately 32 kips downward, 25 kips
shear, and approximately 2,415 foot-kips in bending.

The switch building will be approximately 12 feet by 20 feet, and will be supported on
spread footings.

1201 $.W, 12th Ave., Suite 400 · Pot[land.
