SAND FILTER SYSTEM CONSTRUCTION DETAIL SHEET

March 16, 1993

APPLICANT: KEN ALLEN
SITE NUMHER: 93-197

FIVE ACRES, PARTITION

Your site has been found suitable for a SD=ND FILTER ALTERNATIVE $EWAGB
DISPOSAL SYETEM. The following construction specifications shall apply to the
installation of your septic system.

1. The septic tank shall have a minimum liquid capacity of 1000
gallons.

The projected daily sewage flow for this project is calculated at
450 qallons per ..~. Based on soil conditions observed on this
site, the disDosal field will be sized at 45 lineal feet per 150
qallons of projected daily sewage flow. A minimum of 135 lineal
feet of disposal field will be required for your proposed develop-
ment. The disposal trenches are constructed two (2) feet wide and
On minimum ten (10) foot centers and with no line exceeding 125
feet in length. The trenches and perforated pipe are installed
level (±1") and contoured to follow the natural ground surface.

The disposal field shall be constructed with equal distribution
with a minimum trench depth of 18 inches and a maximum trench
depth of 18 inches. There must be at least 6 inches of backfill
over the top of the gravel, measured from the natural ground
surface.

The sand filter system shall be designed and operated as per OAR
340-71-~90 through 340-71-30S. Detailed plans for the system must
be submitted prior to permit issuance. A building permit is
required if a site built concrete box is used as the sand filter
container. A pamphlet is available in our office which details the
requirements for a sand filter system.

An effluent lift pump may be necessary to construct the disposal field
in the approved area and at the correct depth.

This approval is site specific to the area tested and the septic system
must be located in the immediate area of the test pits unless otherwise autho-
rized by this office. A new site evaluation may be required if the system is
proposed for a different area on the property.

SPECIAL CONDITIONS=
Construct the drainfields on the highest part of the property within the
immediate area of the northwesterly test pit. The easterly pit is
slightly lower which will require a capping fill in conjunction with the
sand filter drainfield. Use care not to disturb the natural soil
conditions (topsoil) within the area of the drainfield sites. Filter
fabric is required to cover the drainfield drainrock prior to backfill-
ing. Observe all normal setback/separation distances. Refer to the
enclosed setback list which outlines minimum separations between septic
systems and other features.

THIS IS NOT A PEI~MIT TO INSTALL THE SEPTIC SYSTEM. DO NOT INSTALL THE SYSTEM
UNTIL A VALID PERMIT HAS BEEN ISSUED BY THIS OFFICE.
