,Marion County

OREGON
COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT
DEPARTMENT

NO~CE OF DENiA~

EVALUATION REPORT FOR AN
ON-SITE SEWAGE DISPOSAL SYSTEM

September 14~ 1994

SANTIAM GOLF CLUB
C/O EMERY & SONS
P.O. BOX 398
STAYTON, OREGON 97383

SUBJECT:

SITE #94-2992, T:SS, R;1W, $~33C, T/L:1000, 75 ACRES
SITE ADDRESS: 8724 GOLF CLUB RD SE. AUMSVILLE, OR 97383

An evaluation has been made of the above described property proposed for
installation of an on-site sewage disposal system. AS a result of that
investigation, it has been determined that the site specified on your applica-
tion does net qualify for a Standard seDtic system or any of the alternative
systems. The conditions on the site do not meet the minimum requirements of
the Department of Environmental Quality On-Site Sewage Disposal Rules~ These
~ules are specified in oregon Administrative Rules, Chapter 340, Division 71,
Sections 100 through 600. Consequently, this site must be denied.

The principal reasons for denial of this site are related to ahallow water
tables. The following paragraphs outline the specific reasons for this denial.

WATER TABLES:
1. A water table,

as indicated by conditions associated with satura-
tion, was observed on the property as follows:
a. Evidence of a Seasonal wa~er table was observed at 4 to 10
inches below the ground surface. These measurements were to
the depth of the soil mottling or to the actual depth of an
observed water table.
The above conditions do not meet the minimum D.E.Q. rules pertain-
ing to standard and alternative sewage systems. The minimum
requirements are listed below;
a. A seasonal qroundwater table cannot be less than 66 inshes
below the ground surface for installation of a standard
septic system or 24 inqhes for installation of any of the
alternative systems.

ADDITIONAL COMMENTS:
A unconventienal system that might be considered for limited rest-room
use is a holding tank during the rainy winter season, with a provision for the
tank to discharge into shallow drainfield lines during the dry soil, summer
season. The rest-room use is expected to be greater during the summer season
when the soil conditions can better process the daily sewage flow load. Dan
Bush with the D.E.Q. has designed similar systems for baseball parks that see
use only during the summer seasons. I recommend that you consult with Dan Bush
for additional information at the D.E.Q. Salem office. Phone% 378-8240.

Call~ if you have any questions. I am usually in the office between 8 & 10 AM.
MARION COUNTY~ BUILDING INSPECTIONS
