This plan review covers the addition to and/or alteration of an existing <br /> structure. This review is not intended to Drohibit the building <br /> inspector from requesting an evaluation of the acceptability of existing <br /> structural members that may appear to be unsafe. Existing construction <br /> not specifically detailed in the submitted plans and structural <br /> calculations is beyond the scope of this review. <br /> <br />2. The 2x8 rafters are undersized for the 13 foot span and the 66 pound <br /> roof live load for the Detroit area. Provide a minimum of 2x12 rafters <br /> at 24" on center. Trusses are noted as an optional roof design. The <br /> trusses will need to be designed for this same 66 pound live load. <br /> <br />Roof trusses are required to be designed by an Oregon registered <br />Engineer or Architect. ~or trusses manufactured by an approved <br />fabrication plant, have the design and layout drawings available at the <br />construction site for the framing inspection. All job site cutting or <br />modification of the roof trusses shall be clearly shown in the <br />engineer's design calculations and drawings. If trusses are to be built <br />at the job site, submit the engineer's design and construction plans to <br />the Marion County Building Department prior to start of construction and <br />have the approved drawings available at the site for the framing <br />inspection. <br /> <br />The 4x4 posts at the patio shall be spaced at 6 feet on center maximum. <br /> The structural supports for decks, balconies, porches or similar <br /> structures shall De pressure-treated wood to protect against <br /> decay. (R-309.1) <br /> <br />Rafters shall be nailed to ceiling joists to form a continuous tie <br />between exterior walls where joist are parallel to the rafters. Where <br />not parallel, rafters shall be tied with a rafter tie, located at or <br />near the plate as practical. Rafter ties shall be spaced not more than 4 <br />feet on center. <br /> <br />As there is no continuous tie between exterior walls of the mobile hone <br />and the patio, support the ridge down to a bearing wall. <br /> <br />Provide a positive connection between the rafters and the exterior wall <br />of the mobile home. The 2x4 stub wall does not provide this positive <br />connectios. <br /> <br />Provide 18" squar~ footings x 12" deep at each 4x4 P.T. post. <br /> <br />"APPROVED" only when this sheet is attached to plans <br /> <br /> <br />
