NE
Aurora, OR 97002

Subject: On-Site Sewage System

On March 23, 1995 I happened to be in the area and ob-
served that a driveway has been constructed over the
septic system serving your residence. I have some con-
cerns about this and wanted to relay those concerns to
you. The Department of Environmental Quality Rules state:
"The site of the initial and replacement absorption
facility shall not be covered by asphalt or concrete,
or subject to vehicular traffic, livestock, or other
activity which would adversely affect the soil."
It appears that a majority of the septic system disposal
field is currently under a gravel driveway. Driving over
the drainfield will compact the soil in the area and
limit the ability of the soil to accept and treat the
sewage from the field. Please be advised that driving
over the disposal field may cause premature failure of
the system.

Please call our office
hours are 8:00 to 4:30,

REGISTERED SANITARIAN

if you have any questions.
Monday through Friday.

Our

DONALD WOODLEY
BUILDING OFPICIAL

Communi~ Development Center · 285 Church Street N,E,, Room 132 Salem, Oregon 97301-3670
