Each tie shall be spaced not more than 24 inches on <br />center horizontally and shall support not more than 2 square feet of <br />wall area. <br /> <br />Wood framed walls a minimum of two feet and less than four feet wide at <br />garage door openings shall be provided with approved hold-down anchors <br />at each end of each wall segment. The hold-downs shall connect the wall <br />studding to the concrete foundation. An alternate design which is <br />designed to resist an 80 mile per hour wind load may be submitted to <br />Marion County for review with details shown on the plans and design <br />calculations showing compliance with this requirement. <br /> <br />A readily accessible attic access shall be provided to any attic area <br />having a clear height of over 30 inches. A framed opening not less than <br />22 in. by 30 in. is required. (R-708) <br /> <br />Water heaters shall be anchored or strapped to resist horizontal <br />displacement due to earthquake motion. (P-1310 (e)) <br /> <br />Approval as a result of this plan review or an inspection shall not be <br />construed to be an approval of a violation of the provisions of the dwelling <br />code or of other ordinances of the jurisdiction.
