A copy of approved plans shall be kept on the site of the building or <br /> work at the time of inspection. (R-Ii1.2) <br /> <br /> This plan review covers the addition to and/or alteration of an existing <br /> structure. This review is not intended to prohibit the building <br /> inspector from requesting an evaluation of the acceptability of existing <br /> structural members that may appear to be unsafe. Existing construction <br /> not sp~cifically detailed in the submitted plans and structural <br /> calculations is beyond the scope of this review. <br /> <br /> The grade away from foundation walls shall fall a minimum of 6 in. <br /> within the first 10 ft., except as restricted by let lines where the <br /> fall will be a minimum of 6 in. regardless of the horizontal distance <br /> available. (R-301.3) <br /> <br />4. Foundation walls and other vertical concrete exposed to the weather <br /> shall have a minimum specified compressive strength of 3000 psi. <br /> Porches, carport slabs, garage floor slabs and steps exposed ~o the <br /> weather shall have a minimum specified comDressive strength of 3500 <br /> Table No. (R-302.2) <br /> <br /> 5. When alterations repairs or additions are made to an existing dwelling, <br /> the entire building shall be provided with smo~e detectors located as <br /> required for new dwellings. (R-215.1) <br /> <br />6. Individual glazed areas in hazardous locations shall pass the test <br /> (cPSC 16-CFR} requirements of section R-205.3 (safety glazing). <br /> Hazardous locations are considered as follows= <br /> e. Fixed panels with an area in excess of 9 square feet and the <br /> lowest edge less than 18 inches above the finished floor. <br /> (In lieu of safety glazing, this specific glazed panel may <br /> be protectedwith a horizontal member not less than <br /> inches in width when located between 24 and 36 inches above <br /> the walking surfaces.) <br /> <br />A3~TERNATE BRACE PANELS Att~ R~QUIR~D AT LOCATIONS SHOWN ON PLANS. <br />Exterior and foundation wall panels of frame construction shall be <br />braced with approved structural sheathing or 1-inch by 4-inch let in <br />braces. Structural sheathing and 1-inch by 4-inch let-in braces shall be <br />installed as per Table No. R-402.10.
