Marion County

OREGON
COMMUNITY DL~VELO?MFNT
DIEPAR]'MFNT

NOTICE OF

EVALUAtiON R~PORT FOR AN
ON-SITE SEWAGE DISPOSAL SYSTEM

March 14, 1994

Jack Hogan
2575 sw Palisades Crest Dr.
Lake Oswego, Oregon 97035

SUBJECT~ SITE #94-00776, T:4S, R:lw,
SITE ADDRESS: 14397 Keil Rd. NE, Aurora

An evaluation has been made of the above described property proposed for
installation of an on-site sewage disposal system. As a result of that
investigation, it has been determined that the site specified on your applica-
tion does not qualify for a standard septic system or any of the alternative
systems. The conditions on the site do not meet the minimum requirements of
the Department of Environmental Quality on-site Sewage Disposal Rules. These
rules are specified in Oregon Administrative Rules, Chapter 340, Division 71,
Sections 100 through 600. Consequently, this site must be denied.

The principal reasons for denial of this site are related to water tables. The
following paragraphs outline the specific reasons for this denial.

WATER TABLE$=
1. A water table, as indicated by conditions associated with satura-
tion, was obse~ed on the ~roperty as follows~
a. ~vidence of a ~mDorary water table was observed at 1--0
i. nches below the ground surface. These measurements were to
the depth of the soil mottling or to the actual depth of an
observed water table.
2. The above conditions do not mee= the minimum D.E.Q. rules pertain-
ing to standard and alternative sewage systems. The minimum
requirements are listed below:
a. A temporary qroundw~ter table cannot be less than 24 inches
below the ground surface for installation of a standard
septic system or 12 inches for installation of any of the
alternative systems.

It should be noted that this study was done only in the area proposed on your
application for on-site sewage disposal. Within the boundaries of your proper-
ty, it is possible that soil conditions in a different area of the property
may be different than those examined in the existing test pits. If you feel
that better soil conditions may exist in another area of the property,
additional test pits will be inspected with no additional charge. Prepare and
submit a new site plan showing the new area proposed for evaluation. Notify
this office of your reques~ in writing and within ninety (90) days of the
initial site ~valuation.

ADDITIONAL COMMENTS:
Water was observed in both test pits at 0" to 6" during the first visit
to the property. Subsequent visits found the water table at 10" below the
surface. Rainfall, at Salem, is approximately 12 inches below normal for the
current weather year. Since the land is basically flat, it is doubtful that
soil conditions will vary significantly on the property.
