The details <br />shown have been accepted as providing a reasonable degree of safety while not <br />necessarily in full compliance with the current code. This review is based on <br />the regulations of the Oregon State Structural Specialty Code ('91 UBC) 1993 <br />Edition. <br /> <br />This review is not intended to prohibit the building inspector from requesting <br />an evaluation of the acceptability of existing structural members that may <br />appear to be unsafe. Existing construction not specifically detailed in the <br />plans and structural calculations is beyond the scope of this review. <br /> <br />Plans should indicate the land,lBS on each side of stair doors is not <br />more than 1 inch lower than the threshold of the doorway. Sec. 3304(i) <br /> <br />Exit doors shall be openable from the inside without the use of a key or <br />any special knowledge or effort. Manually operated edge or surface <br />bolts are prohibited.
