FINISHING RI!COMMI!#DATION5

1, Further Finishing
Not Required
Regular SkidGuard is a finished pro-
duct with overlaid surfaces requiring
no further protection. The overlaid
surface is superior to paint and stain
in thai it minimizes checking and
grain raise in the wood underneath.
However, the surface can be painted
for aeslhetic of loci.
2. Painting
The ovedaid surface of Regular
SkidGuard is an excellent base for
paint. To ensure that no trace of the
release agent used in manufacturing
the product remains on the surface,
clean with toluene, Socal ~2 or a
similar solvent and an abrasive pad
(nylon or aluminum), This will assure
maximum adhesion of the finish to
the surface. After the surface has
dried, appJy fwd coals ct exterior
deck enamel. Since enamel tends to
reduce the alip-resistanl properties
of the surface, the addition of sand
Io lhe top-coat of enamel is
recommended.
3. Edge Sealing
in exterior applicalions, the edges
and ends of the panel should be
sealed bolero installation with a 9odd
quality pigmented exterior polyure-
thane resin finish. Clear polyurethane
sealers are not recommended lot
exterior use,

Fig, I Suggested Field Joint

Load Span Tables
Allowable Uniform Load per square
toot (PSF) for dry conditions is
shown in Tables 2 and 3.
