Details and dimensions not shown <br />shall comply with Public Law 101-336, the Ar~ericans with Disabilities <br />Act, Part III; Department of Justice Regulations of Friday, July 26, <br />1991; 28 C.F.R., Part 36, including A~ericans with Disabilities Act <br />Accessibility Guidelines (ADAAG) and Public Law 100-430, the Fair <br />Mousing Act and the regulations adopted thereunder and the requirements <br />of Chapter 31. (3101) <br /> <br />Accessible routes shall be provided between buildings and accessible <br />site facilities (accessible parking spaces) in compliance with Chapter <br />31 of the Oregon Structural Specialty Code. The accessible route shall <br />be the most practical direct route between accessible building entries, <br />accessible site facilities and the accessible entry to the site. An <br />accessible route shall connect to the public right-of-way. <br /> <br />An accessible route is a "continuous unobstructed path connecting all <br />accessible elements and spaces of a building or facility .... Exterior <br />accessible routes may include connections to the public right-of-way, <br />parking access aisles, curb ramps, crosswalks at vehicular ways, walks, <br />ramps and lifts." (3102) <br /> <br />A sign shall be posted for each accessible parking space. The sign <br />shall be clearly visible to a person parking in the space and marked <br />with the international symbol of accessibility; indicate that the spaces <br />are reserved for persons with disabled person parking permits; and be <br />designed to standards adopted by the Oregon Transportation Commission. <br /> <br />The pavement of each accessible parking space shall be clearly marked <br />with the international symbol of accessibility to standards adopted by <br />the Oregon Transportation Commission. (3104(h)1 & 2) <br /> <br />No ramp may extend into an accessible parking space or the adjacent <br />access aisle, and curb cuts and ramps may not be situated so they could <br />be blocked by a legally parked vehicle. (3104(i)) <br /> <br />The maximum slope of a ramp on an accessible route is 1 vertical to 12 <br />horizontal. The ramp shall be at least 36 inches in clear width. <br />Landings shall be provide top and bottom of each run. Landings shall be <br />level and have a minimum dimension measured in the direction of ramp run <br />of not less than 60 inches. The maximum rise between landings for any <br />ramp run shall be 30 inches. Handrails, as required for stairs, shall <br />be provided on ramps having slopes steeper than 1 vertical to 20 <br />horizontal. Ramps and Landings with drop-offs shall have curbs, walls <br />or projecting surfaces that prevent people from slipping off the ramp. <br />Curbs shall be at least 2 inches high and/or extended platforms shall be <br />at least 12 inches wide. Ramps on accessible routes shall have a slip <br />resistance with a static coefficient of friction of 0.8. (3109(g)) <br /> <br />The under-floor area shall be accessible. Accessible under-floor areas <br />shall be provided with at least an 18-inch by 24-inch opening <br />unobstructed by pipes, ducts and similar construction. Ail under-floor <br />access openings shall be effectively screened or covered. Pipes, ducts <br />and other construction shall not interfere with the accessibility to or <br />within under-floor areas. (2516(c)2) <br /> <br /> <br />
